Flagged numbers now automatically replace themselves
Spotting a flagged number takes one glance at the Reputation tab. Replacing it takes considerably more work: finding a new number in the right area code, adding it to campaigns and call flows, assigning it to the right users, and reconnecting it to your integrations.
Automatic Flagged Number Replacement now handles that process for you. When one of your business numbers receives a Flagged reputation status, MightyCall buys a clean replacement and retires the flagged number—automatically, without a support ticket or manual reassignment.
What’s new
- Automatic replacement. When a number becomes flagged, MightyCall provisions a clean replacement. No one has to monitor the dashboard.
- Your area code is preserved. MightyCall first looks for a replacement with the same area code. If none are available, the system searches for an overlay area code serving the same region, helping you maintain a local presence.
- Every setting carries over. Campaigns, call flows, user assignments, recording rules, and integrations are transferred to the replacement number.
- Campaigns stay configured during the swap. We add the replacement to your campaigns before removing the flagged number, so nothing flips to Incomplete mid-rotation.
- You get a 14-day grace period. The flagged number remains active for two weeks after the swap, so people who already have the old number can still reach you.
- Toll-free numbers are included. Flagged toll-free numbers follow the same automatic rotation process.

How the replacement number is chosen
MightyCall follows a priority list so the new number stays as close to the original number as possible:
- Same area code. MightyCall first looks for a new number with the same area code as the flagged number.
- An overlay area code. If no direct match is available, MightyCall looks for a number from an overlay area code serving the same geographic region.
- Any available area code. If neither option is available, MightyCall provisions a number from another available area code.
- If nothing is available at all, the rotation stops. Your current number stays in place until we can provision a replacement, so you’re never left without a number.
Toll-free numbers follow the same logic. For example, MightyCall first tries to replace a flagged 833 number with another 833 number. If none are available, it uses another available toll-free prefix.
What happens to the flagged number
The flagged number doesn’t disappear as soon as its replacement is ready.
For 14 days after rotation, it remains in your account and continues to appear in the Number list, Call flow, and Reputation sections, marked with an icon. Hover over the icon to see how many days remain before the number is removed.
During those 14 days, the flagged number:
- Is excluded from outbound campaign calls, so campaigns stop dialing from a number with a damaged reputation
- Can still receive inbound calls
- Can still be used for manual outbound calls
- Can remain part of your call flows
After 14 days, MightyCall removes the flagged number from the account.

Why Automatic flagged number replacement matters
A flagged number is first and foremost a reach problem. That means your team can keep dialing — and using the same time and resources — while reaching fewer people.
The longer a flagged number remains active in a campaign, the more calls you make with a number that’s already working against your answer rates.

Autoreplacement gets campaigns back to clean numbers quickly, without relying on someone to spot the problem and replace the number manually. But replacing the number addresses the immediate reach problem, not necessarily the reason it was flagged. If the underlying issue is aggressive calling pace, poor list quality, consent practices, or missing call branding, a replacement number can eventually develop the same reputation problems. Autorotation keeps campaigns running while giving your team time to address those underlying patterns.
Use MightyCall’s reputation scores — including Maturity, Connection, Engagement, and Sentiment — to understand how your numbers are performing and where your calling practices may need attention.
Autoreplacement keeps your number pool clean. Good calling practices help keep it healthy.
