How MightyCall is Taking Lessons From the Battle of Britain
The MightyCall service that you have come to know and love is now just over a year old. Time sure flies when you have great customers! In that time, we’ve grown from just a handful of subscribers to more than 15,000. We’ve also added many new features, like unlimited minute plans, click-to-call from Contact Us pages, and the ability to make outbound calls using MightyCall numbers from smart phones and web browsers.
By popular request, we’ve also enabled voice recording and international calls. That’s a lot of customers, and that’s a lot of minutes!
Our records show that the amount of call minutes have increased by more than 170% in the last 12 months, with more than 290,000 minutes used every day. To make sure that we are able to keep supporting this growth and to keep making sure that we don’t let you guys down, we’ve made some improvements and upgrades to our backup systems.
One of those upgrades is what we call active “Hot Standby.” Without getting too technical, what this means is that we have a backup system on the sidelines, all prepped and ready to take over automatically should our primary systems fail. Any interruption would be measured in terms of seconds, rather than the minutes it used to.
I like to think of it as similar to the Battle of Britain, with the Royal Air Force having fighter planes all fired up and ready to scramble to intercept the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) at a moment’s notice, with no time needed to prepare the aircraft (Can you tell I’m a bit of a World War Two nerd?).
Coming back to the present day, this means that you can continue to place your faith in MightyCall to continue to power your business phone systems and to keep on raising the bar on professionalism in the small business space!
